Profiles : Kevin G. Thornton
As Vice President of Construction and Development for Wright Development Group, Mr. Thornton has over twenty-four years of commercial, institutional and multifamily residential experience in general contracting and development organizations.
Prior to Wright Development Group, Mr. Thornton was Vice President of Phoenix Builders and responsible for all aspects of the general contracting division. He oversaw a variety of projects, including multi-family, restaurants, retail centers, office buildings and “green” projects throughout the Chicagoland area:

• Sal & Carvao Brazilian Steakhouses
• Chicago Heights Dialysis Center
• Goldman Center Retirement Community

Before Phoenix Builders, Mr. Thornton was Regional Vice President of Construction at Village Green Companies, a top-50 multi-housing developer and owner, responsible for multi-family developments ranging from 184 to 450 units in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota.
Mr. Thornton also worked as a Project Manager for Pepper Construction and completed many projects in downtown Chicago including Peoples Gas Light and Coke corporate offices at Prudential One, Nutrasweet corporate offices at The Merchandise Mart and Sears Tower, Latham and Watkins law offices and Ameritech corporate offices in the Sears Tower. Before Pepper, he worked for Post Properties, another top-50 multi-housing developer and owner, developing and constructing over 2,400 units in the Gulf Coast and Central Florida.
Educated as a Construction Engineering major at Iowa State University, Mr. Thornton has served as a speaker for the Association of Licensed Architects in Schaumburg and Rockford and the Renovation and Rehabilitation Conference in Chicago and is regarded as an authority in LEED certified projects, “green” construction, and multi-family construction.
